Oxford Financial adds former Goldman wealth adviser Eric Lipkind in New York

Eric D. Lipkind, formerly a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs in New York, has joined Oxford Financial Group as a managing director in its New York market.

InvestmentNews reported that Oxford Financial Group has added Eric D. Lipkind as a managing director in New York, bringing in a veteran of Goldman Sachs' wealth business. The item appeared in a roundup of people moves that also covered changes at Fiduciary Trust International and BMO. This article focuses only on the Oxford appointment.

Oxford's own announcement, a press release dated 5 November 2026, confirmed the New York appointment. The release describes Oxford as one of the largest independent RIA firms in the country and says it has $38 billion in assets under advisement, a measure Oxford says includes assets under management.

Before joining Oxford, Lipkind was a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs in New York, and according to the release he headed a group that works with very wealthy households and selected institutional clients. The sources reviewed do not give the size of that team, and this article does not estimate it. The release says Lipkind also worked in sales and analytics at Bloomberg before moving to Goldman's wealth side.

CityBiz reported that Lipkind holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, with a concentration in quantitative finance, and a finance bachelor's degree from Tulane University.

According to CityBiz, Oxford's New York market is served by seven managing directors, including chief executive Jeffrey Thomasson and co-managing partner Kristina Baron. The Oxford release says the firm's New York presence extends beyond Lipkind's appointment.

The release says Oxford has 25 managing directors across seven market offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Palm Beach. The firm has made several other 2026 appointments that its releases describe. In June it added two managing directors in Cincinnati. In August it added a managing director and family office fellow in Grand Rapids. In October it announced two managing director appointments tied to its investment platform, including a private markets team based in Carmel, Indiana.

The Oxford release frames the appointment as part of expanding its New York presence, and it does not say what role, if any, the new managing director will have beyond serving clients in the market.

The sources do not say whether any clients or colleagues will follow Lipkind to Oxford, or whether he has brought over any assets. Those details would be needed to judge the size of the move for both firms, and neither the InvestmentNews item nor Oxford's release provides them.
