WealthManagement.com reported that Tandems has launched Hamilton, an AI assistant for financial advisors, and that the tool is now generally available to existing and new customers. Tandems describes itself as an AI-native wealth operating system. The company's announcement was issued through Business Wire on October 27, 2026, at 6:30 a.m. EDT.
According to the company's release, Hamilton is built on WealthOS, which Tandems says comprises seven systems and 45 tools. The company says the assistant can manage up to 80% of an advisor's daily tasks. Tandems is the source of that 80% number, and neither WealthManagement.com nor the release explains how the company arrived at it. The release says Hamilton is aimed at banks, insurers and large wealth firms.
The release also describes the assistant's model-routing layer, which draws on Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini. Customers can connect their own models, according to the company. According to the release, Hamilton records each advisor-client exchange that involves AI assistance in a log, and it is configured to conform with state rules on artificial intelligence.
WealthManagement.com reported that Mike Sha, Tandems' co-founder and CEO, said the product grew out of observing how more than 5,000 advisors work, at firms such as Wells Fargo, Scotiabank, Citizens and New York Life. The outlet's own summary describes the base as thousands of advisors, so the exact figure should be read against the company's release. Sha also compared Hamilton's audit logging with Anthropic's newly launched Claude for Financial Advisors, the outlet said.
Sha told WealthManagement.com that Tandems aims mainly at big enterprise clients that serve thousands of advisors, such as aggregators and home-office operations, and not at independent RIAs. The outlet reported that Tandems has about 100 employees, roughly 70 of them in product, engineering or quality assurance.
According to the company, its origins date to 2006, it works with financial institutions in the U.S. and Canada, and more than 5,000 advisors use its platform. It also says the platform holds $80 billion in assets and 2.7 million accounts. These are platform-level figures stated by the company, not regulatory assets under management, and the sources do not independently verify them.
The company has a recent corporate history. In September 2025, SigFig announced it was renaming itself Tandems and launching an AI-native WealthOS, according to a Business Wire release datelined San Francisco. The September 2025 announcement put the platform at more than $60 billion in assets, two million accounts and 6,000 advisors. The 2026 release reports 5,000 advisors and $80 billion, and it does not explain the change in advisor count.
Coverage of the 2025 rebrand framed it as a move away from SigFig's robo-adviser roots. RIABiz described it as a larger bet on AI and a pivot toward a product line modelled partly on Orion. Kubera's August 2026 update notes that the SigFig name remains in use for the consumer robo product, while the parent company concentrates on software sold to banks and advisors.
WealthManagement.com lists competitors including Astreus, Advisor360 OneVest, Humanity Labs, Jump, Zeplyn and Zocks. The sources do not give pricing for Hamilton, and they do not describe any customers beyond the firms Sha named.
