Sheets and Green bring J.P. Morgan group to Rockefeller in Houston

WealthManagement.com reported that Rockefeller Capital Management has added a Houston team led by Chris Sheets and Forrest Green to its Global Family Office division, with sources differing on size.

WealthManagement.com reported on October 26, 2026 that Rockefeller Capital Management has expanded its Global Family Office division with a Houston team led by Chris Sheets and Forrest Green, who came from J.P. Morgan. WealthManagement.com described the group as seven members. The firm has not issued a press release for this team that the research turned up, so the account of the move rests on press coverage.

The sources do not agree on the size of the group. WealthManagement.com said the team managed $1.4 billion, citing a Forbes Best-in-State advisor ranking. AdvisorHub, in a report dated October 23, 2026, citing an unnamed source, put the J.P. Morgan practice at $700 million in client assets and said the team, named Sage Wealth Partners, produced $4.8 million in annual revenue. Those figures measure different things: the $1.4 billion and $700 million are asset figures, while the $4.8 million is revenue. The headcount also differs. WealthManagement.com counted seven members, while AdvisorHub said T. Scott Holstead stayed at J.P. Morgan and nine other members moved. The sources do not reconcile the two counts.

WealthManagement.com named team members Nick Routzahn, Hayden Kerns, Cameron Sheets, who is Chris Sheets' son, Karoline Humphries, whom the outlet identified as team COO, and McKenna Whitney. WealthManagement.com described Chris Sheets as working in alternative and private investments and wealth structuring, while Forrest Green's work centers on multifaceted planning that covers intergenerational wealth transfers, concentrated stock positions and business sales. Routzahn's biography on Rockefeller's website lists his current role as Private Advisor and his membership in Sage Wealth Partners, and notes that he previously worked as a Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

According to registration records cited by AdvisorHub, Sheets and Green joined J.P. Morgan in 2018, after starting their advisory careers at Bernstein Private Wealth Management in 2002 and 2004. J.P. Morgan's website lists the SGH Group, founded by Sheets, Green and Holstead, at 712 Main Street in Houston, and says the three partners have more than 75 years of combined experience. AdvisorHub's source said Holstead, a founding member of the Houston wealth office, stayed at J.P. Morgan.

Rockefeller Capital Management says it was established in 2018 as an independent financial advisory firm and traces its origins to 1882, when it was the family office of John D. Rockefeller. Wikipedia says the firm was founded on March 1, 2018 in New York City, with Rockefeller & Co. as its predecessor, and lists its headquarters at 45 Rockefeller Plaza. Rockefeller Financial LLC is an SEC-registered broker-dealer and investment adviser and a FINRA and SIPC member, according to the firm. SmartAsset says the firm is primarily owned by Viking Global-affiliated investment funds, which are its largest equity holder, alongside minority stakeholders. Gregory J. Fleming is listed as President and CEO on Rockefeller's leadership page. Michael Outlaw is named President of Rockefeller Global Family Office in the firm's August and October 2026 releases, while Chris Dupuy held that title in 2025 releases.

The firm's October 2026 press release, as carried by Yahoo Finance, reported $237 billion in firm-wide client assets as of August 31, 2026 across its three businesses. An earlier 2026 release reported $224 billion as of June 30, 2026. Third-party sources give different figures. A third-party directory cites about $90 billion in assets under administration as of December 31, 2024, and an SEC fund filing shows about $19 billion in assets under supervision as of September 30, 2025 for Rockefeller Asset Management, which is a division figure rather than firm-wide.

The Houston team is not the first Houston addition. In January 2025, Rockefeller added Heritage Wealth Partners of Houston, from Morgan Stanley, and Venetos Wealth Partners of New York, from J.P. Morgan. AdvisorHub put Heritage's book at $400 million in client assets, with the two teams combined at $900 million. AdvisorHub also reported that a UBS Wealth Management USA team in Columbus, Ohio, which oversaw $350 million, was hired alongside the Houston group, and that the two teams together oversaw more than $1 billion. AdvisorHub says Rockefeller also has offices in Cincinnati and Cleveland. Rockefeller's August 2026 release announced Jones Wealth Partners, which opened a Columbus, Ohio office.

What comes next is not established by the sources. The headcount and asset figures remain unreconciled between WealthManagement.com and AdvisorHub, and the firm's own announcement of the Houston team was not found. Readers should treat the $1.4 billion, $700 million and seven-member figures as attributed claims rather than confirmed firm data until a primary announcement or filing is available.
