WealthManagement.com reported on November 3, 2026 that Carson Group has added Marietta Wealth Management, a registered investment adviser based in Marietta, Ga. InvestmentNews published its own report the same day, describing the firm as a four-partner Georgia RIA joining the integrated Carson Wealth channel. Carson's announcement, distributed through GlobeNewswire, said Marietta joined as a Carson Wealth office and that the firm holds approximately $1.6 billion in assets under advisement. The release uses that term to distinguish the figure from the assets under management it reports for Carson itself.

The release names four leaders for Marietta: Scott Keller, Charlie Holloway, Ben Crowe and Wes Hackney, described as managing partners and wealth advisors. According to the release, the team evaluated several potential partners before choosing Carson for its flexibility, entrepreneurial culture and resources, and it cited expanded ownership opportunities for team members. Alaris Acquisitions served as exclusive M&A advisor to Marietta Wealth Management in the transaction. Neither the release nor the coverage reviewed for this article disclosed a purchase price. The $1.6 billion figure is an asset measure, not the price of the deal.

WealthManagement.com's summary tied the deal to recent hiring at Carson, noting that it came several weeks after the firm attracted Matt Humphrey, a Goldman Sachs and United Bank alum, to lead its integrated W-2 channel. Carson announced Humphrey's appointment as divisional president of that channel on October 13, 2026. According to InvestmentNews, Humphrey held a senior wealth post at United Bank, where more than $12 billion in assets under supervision fell under his oversight. WealthManagement.com also reported that Carson split its W-2 and independent channels earlier this summer, with Scott Conroy leading the independent side.

Regulatory filings describe Marietta Wealth Management as a Georgia limited liability company with its main office at 472 N. Sessions Street in Marietta. Its CRD number is 281782, according to the firm's October 2025 brochure, which also says the firm is 100% owned by private individuals. A 2022 brochure from the firm dates its formation to October 2015 and describes it as fee-only, with the same four principals listed as owners. That earlier brochure reported roughly $1.01 billion in regulatory assets under management as of December 30, 2021, a different measure from the assets under advisement figure in Carson's release. BrokerCheck, as cited by Financial Advisor magazine, shows the advisers operating Marietta Wealth Management since 2015 and previously with Henssler Financial.

Third-party aggregators show differing figures for the firm. Indyfin lists $974 million in regulatory AUM and nine advisors. FinTRX lists about $1.4 billion in AUM with nine reps and 12 team members. These sites are not primary SEC records, and the figures should be checked against adviserinfo.sec.gov before they are relied on.

Carson Group is headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. According to Financial Advisor magazine, it reports more than $66 billion in AUM across a network of more than 165 partner offices and more than 60,000 client families. The firm was founded in 1983 by Ron Carson. Carson's own materials say Ron Carson moved to chairman and Burt White became chief executive in April 2024. Carson has been expanding in Georgia this year. It fully acquired its Carson Wealth location in Milton, Ga., led by G.C. Lewis, in February 2026, a business Carson reported as holding about $218 million in assets. In October 2026, according to CityBiz, Carson added St. John & Associates, an Atlanta-area practice with about $131 million in AUM, into its existing Milton office. Carson also said it reached 50 integrated offices with the Elios Financial Group deal in September 2026.

The sources do not say how Marietta's client relationships, branding or reporting lines will be handled during the transition, or whether Carson plans further deals in the Atlanta area. The release's emphasis on ownership for team members and the W-2 channel build-out are the parts of the announcement that bear most directly on how advisers evaluating similar moves will read the deal. Financial ADVSR will update this article if Carson or Marietta provides a purchase price or further detail.
