Ten-year Treasury yield climbs 3 basis points to 5.31%
Official Treasury data show the 10-year par yield closed at 5.31% on Monday, up from 5.28% on Friday. The 30-year rose to 5.66% from 5.63%, and the 2-year edged up to 4.84% from 4.83%, leaving the 2s10s spread at 47 basis points. A month earlier the 10-year stood at 4.78%, and a year earlier at 4.13%.

PTC surges 33% on Schneider Electric's $22 billion cash offer
Shares of PTC rose about 33% after Schneider Electric announced an all-cash acquisition valued at $22 billion, according to TheStreet. The deal was the standout single-stock move in its Monday coverage. Other gainers it cited included Moderna, up 6.95%, and Visa, up 2.53%.

September final PMIs land a shade under forecasts
The final S&P Global US composite PMI for September came in at 51.1, against a consensus of 51.2, according to Trading Economics. The services PMI was 51.2, compared with an expected 51.4. Both readings remain above 50, the line separating expansion from contraction, but each missed forecasts by a narrow margin.
Commodities
Crude falls nearly 2% while gold barely moves
WTI crude fell 1.84% to $89.23 a barrel, and Brent lost 1.89% to $100.27, according to Trading Economics. Gold was close to unchanged at $4,138.78 an ounce, down 0.03% from the prior session. The sources reviewed did not give a reason for the move in oil.

Investors await September Fed minutes; next meeting is Oct. 27-28
CNBC reported that investors were waiting for the release of minutes from the Federal Reserve's September meeting, looking for detail on the quarter-point rate hike decided there. The central bank's next policy meeting is scheduled for October 27-28. The 2-year Treasury yield closed at 4.84%, according to Treasury data.
