Vestmark and Allspring partner to expand advisor-built model portfolios

The tie-up will place Allspring strategies inside Vestmark's managed account infrastructure, giving RIAs another option for tax-aware model portfolios.

WealthManagement.com reported on October 28, 2026, that Vestmark and Allspring Global Investments have partnered to help registered investment advisers build tax-aware model portfolios. The announcement was made in a press release distributed through BusinessWire on the same day.

Under the arrangement, Allspring's strategies will sit alongside other funds inside Vestmark's unified managed account infrastructure. That infrastructure handles trading, rebalancing and tax management for the portfolios built on it, according to the roundup's description of the deal and the release.

The release places a $603 billion figure next to Allspring. Vestmark flags that number with an asterisk and describes it as assets under advisement, a measure distinct from assets under management, according to the release and a fintech.global report on the deal. Vestmark's own figures in the release, more than $2 trillion in supported assets, more than 5 million accounts and more than 72,000 advisors, describe assets flowing through its platform rather than Vestmark's own AUM.

The release includes quotes from Rob Battista, executive vice president of advisory solutions at Vestmark, and Tony Svach, head of U.S. intermediary distribution at Allspring.

Vestmark is headquartered in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and was founded in 2001. Its chief executive is Karl Roessner. Vestmark's news archive says its advisory solutions unit had more than $50 billion in AUM by June 2026, a fivefold increase.

Vestmark's news archive also reports that Envestnet announced a definitive agreement on September 9, 2026, to acquire Vestmark. The sources reviewed do not say how that pending transaction bears on the Allspring partnership.

The Allspring deal adds to a run of Vestmark partnerships. Vestmark and BlackRock announced a partnership on September 24, 2024, to enhance custom model portfolio offerings. On July 30, 2025, Vestmark and Fidelity struck a deal to build custom model portfolios on an open-architecture basis. On October 30, 2025, Vestmark and Capital Group disclosed a distribution arrangement. Vestmark and VanEck launched custom model portfolios for advisors on December 3, 2025. Vestmark and T. Rowe Price launched a personalized model portfolio solution called Custom Premier on January 22, 2026. A Vestmark release from August 2026 says the firm was selected to support Vanguard custom model portfolios for RIAs.

The same WealthManagement.com roundup also covered a separate model portfolio deal. According to WisdomTree's announcement, WisdomTree and Return Stacked ETFs entered a joint arrangement on October 28, 2026, under which models designed to use capital efficiently and carrying both brands will be offered through Quorus, with a launch targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The roundup spells the firm Quoros in places, while the press releases use Quorus. The roundup's summary also mentions fund launches by Janus Henderson, Van Eck and Cantor Fitzgerald, which were not part of this review.

The sources do not say when Allspring's strategies will become available on the Vestmark platform, or how advisors will be charged for the offering. Advisors and platform executives will be watching how the partnership performs as Vestmark's pending sale to Envestnet moves forward.
