Citywire RIA reported on October 20 that ICG next, a wealth management practice based in Wall Township, New Jersey, has moved from LPL Financial to Osaic. Osaic announced the affiliation the same day in a Business Wire release, which said the firm manages about $2.3 billion in client assets. Wealth Solutions Report also covered the move, reporting that the firm will keep its ICG next branding, according to an Osaic spokesperson.
The Osaic release puts the team at about 21 financial advisors, supported by client service and operations professionals. AdvisorHub, in a separate report, described the group as a 22-advisor team and cited registration records showing the team joined Osaic in Wall Township on a Friday, a timing that differs from the public announcement. This article uses the firm's figure of about 21 advisors.
ICG next is led by Managing Partner James A. Costabile, whose listed credentials include CRPC, CLTC and AIF. According to the release, the firm also maintains an office in Melville, New York. According to the release, the firm picked Osaic for three main factors: the chance to deal directly with top executives, direct assistance with recruiting and deal-making, and the capacity to run operations and serve clients on the NFS platform. Costabile told Wealth Solutions Report that the firm wanted a partner that would provide scale while preserving what makes it distinctive.
The firm's website describes ICG next as an advisory firm serving multigenerational families. The site states that securities and advisory services are offered through LPL Financial, and the cached version had not yet been updated to reflect the Osaic move at the time of research. WealthManagement reported that ICG next launched with LPL in 2019. The Osaic release says the firm has nearly tripled in size since then and plans to keep growing through organic growth, advisor recruiting and acquisitions. It says ICG next focuses on early- and mid-career advisors building practices, while also partnering with later-career advisors who need succession solutions. The website also cites an advisor-to-client ratio of 125 to 1, compared with an industry average it puts above 400 to 1. That figure is the firm's own marketing claim.
According to WealthManagement, citing BrokerCheck, Costabile spent about 16 years as an advisor with Ameriprise before moving to LPL. AdvisorHub, also citing BrokerCheck, said he began his career at Ameriprise in 2002. His website biography gives 23 years of experience and lists him as a managing partner and financial advisor. An older team page on the firm's site lists Craig D. Laday and Michael Bonevento as managing partners alongside Costabile.
Osaic, formerly known as Advisor Group, serves approximately 11,000 financial professionals and more than 250 financial institutions, according to Wikipedia, which lists its headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona. Wikipedia reports more than $700 billion in assets for the firm, a figure Osaic's About page describes as assets under administration rather than assets under management. Jamie Price is chief executive and Shannon Reid is president. In April 2026, Reverence Capital Partners announced the closing of a recapitalization of Osaic that it said involved more than $2 billion in new capital, with Bain Capital Special Situations also taking part. Osaic completed its integration of acquired firms under the Osaic brand in early 2025. It acquired Lincoln National's wealth management business in December 2023 and CW Advisors in June 2025, with neither purchase price disclosed.
Citywire RIA has also reported earlier that Investment Advisors Financial Group, of Eatontown, New Jersey, recruited a $1 billion advisory team from Osaic to its platform. AdvisorHub reported that LPL earlier this month hired Legacy Financial Group, a Michigan firm that oversaw $175 million at Osaic. AdvisorHub also noted that Osaic lost one of its former recruiting leaders, Kevin Peterson, to Carson Group in August.
Osaic's release says its future expansion will concentrate mainly on the East Coast, especially the New York and New Jersey tri-state area. ICG next has said it will pursue growth through a combination of organic growth, advisor recruiting and acquisitions, while continuing to focus on advisors at different stages of their careers.
