FTV Capital takes growth stake in Kingsview Partners

FTV Capital, a growth equity firm, announced an undisclosed investment in Kingsview Partners, a national independent RIA with more than $10 billion in assets under management.

Citywire RIA reported that FTV Capital partner Mike Vostrizansky discussed the firm's view of the wealth management space and its August deal to take a stake in Kingsview Partners. Citywire's headline cites a $13.7 billion figure for Kingsview, but that number does not appear in the firm's announcement or in other coverage reviewed for this article. The firm put Kingsview's assets under management at more than $10 billion, and this article uses that figure. This article draws on the summary of the Citywire interview and on the firm's announcement, and it does not include direct quotes from Vostrizansky.

FTV announced the investment on 27 August 2026 in a release datelined Chicago and New York. The firm said terms were not disclosed, so no price or valuation is public. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory filings. According to the release, Kingsview's management will continue to lead the firm and retain significant ownership. FTV partners Kyle Griswold, Mike Vostrizansky and Brandon Spierto will join Kingsview's board after closing.

In its own account, Kingsview presents itself as a combined wealth management business operating nationwide, with more than 15,000 client households. In the firm's account, it has more than 100 advisors across more than 70 offices in 23 states, average annual growth above 35% over three years, and 97% average advisor retention. Its operating units are Kingsview Wealth Management, a fee-based SEC-registered adviser; Kingsview Investment Management, an asset manager that advises the Monarch ETF suite; and Kingsview Insurance Services. FTV said its Global Partner Network, which includes more than 600 executives, and its internal operating team, FTV Propel, are available to Kingsview.

Kingsview was founded in 2008 by Josh Lewis, a former commodities trader, and is based in Grants Pass, Oregon, according to AdvisorHub. AdvisorHub reported that the firm's ownership was held by the Lewis family trust before the deal, and that Lewis returned to the chief executive role in July 2025, when the firm reportedly shifted its strategy toward buying other RIAs. Kingsview's portfolio page on FTV's website lists its location as Chicago, while its regulatory details point to Oregon.

Regulatory and recruiting records add further detail, though some figures remain unreconciled. AdvisorHub reported, citing Form ADV, that Kingsview custodies client assets with Charles Schwab, Raymond James and Interactive Brokers, and that the same filing indicates advisers who join may be offered equity, with recruiting bonuses paid through Raymond James. An SEC brochure cited by advisor.guide sets a $25,000 minimum account size. A third-party aggregator reports regulatory AUM of $8.96 billion, but the same page gives a different headline figure, and its advisor counts vary across sections. Those numbers have not been verified against the live Form ADV.

Kingsview's recruiting has drawn many Edward Jones brokers. AdvisorHub reported that many of the advisers Kingsview has hired came from Edward Jones. Edward Jones filed a complaint in Baxter County Circuit Court in Arkansas to stop two advisers who joined Kingsview from soliciting clients, according to AdvisorHub. The same outlet reported that a former Edward Jones broker who moved to Kingsview in 2023 was ordered to pay $1.5 million in a non-solicitation dispute. Citywire had earlier reported in an exclusive piece that Kingsview was looking to sell a minority interest, with Republic Capital Group acting as its banker, citing about $4.8 billion in AUM at the end of 2023 from its SEC filing.

FTV was founded in 1998 and is a growth equity firm, according to PitchBook. Its headquarters is in San Francisco, with offices in New York, Connecticut and London, per its LinkedIn profile. FTV says it has raised more than $10.2 billion in capital since founding; that is capital raised, not assets under management. FTV's earlier wealth-related investments include Docupace, Masttro and True Potential, according to CityBiz. Blackstone GP Stakes previously took a minority investment in FTV, according to Blackstone's announcement. Vostrizansky joined the board of Tidal Financial after FTV's 2022 investment in that firm.

Other outlets covered the deal with varying emphasis. Private Banker International noted that terms were not revealed. Connect Money described it as an undisclosed stake sale. Dealroom framed the deal around the independent RIA channel. Citywire's headline describes it as FTV's first RIA investment, a claim this article has not independently confirmed. Kirkland & Ellis published its own release on advising FTV.

Several points remain open. The price, the size of FTV's stake and the final terms have not been disclosed, and the deal has not closed. No FTV or Kingsview SEC filing describing this transaction was located, and FTV's own adviser registration has not been verified. The $13.7 billion figure in Citywire's headline has not been traced to a source. Readers should expect further detail when the transaction closes in the fourth quarter.
