Citywire RIA reported on 19 October 2026 that NewEdge has launched a family office business called Aligned Wealth. According to the report, the business was co-founded by Patrick Dwyer, and Nick Raffone will serve as its president and chief financial officer. The Citywire summary does not give assets under management, client numbers or a start date for the business, and no firm announcement of the launch was located in preparing this article.
NewEdge Wealth, LLC is a Stamford, Connecticut registered investment adviser with CRD number 307771. FINTRX records the firm as registered with the SEC in 2020 and lists total assets under management of $19.9 billion, 211 employees and 130 advisory representatives. AdvisorSearch shows the same $19.9 billion figure. The firm's 2023 Form ADV brochure gives a much smaller regulatory figure of about $6.9 billion as of 30 June 2023, so the most recent figure should be checked before it is relied on.
The firm's own pages give conflicting asset thresholds for the family office offering. A NewEdge careers page describes Aligned Wealth as serving families with more than $3 billion in assets, while the Aligned Miami page describes families with more than $100 million. Patrick Dwyer is listed as a managing director at NewEdge Wealth on the Aligned Miami page. A 2022 BusinessWire release announced a Miami office led by his six-person team, and CNBC described him in February 2026 as a managing director at Aligned by NewEdge Wealth, a Miami-based boutique.
According to Wealth Solutions Report, NewEdge Capital Group is the wealth management business unit of EdgeCo Holdings. Financial Planning reports that EdgeCo Holdings receives backing from Parthenon Capital and Waterfall Asset Management. In an earlier report, Financial Planning said NewEdge Wealth had added a $6 billion AUM team from Summit Trail Advisors. CNBC lists Rob Sechan as founder and managing partner and James Jesse as chief executive. The group's careers page says Sechan co-founded NewEdge Wealth in 2020 with three partners.
The research did not establish Nick Raffone's background. A Vise announcement names a Nick Raffone as chief financial officer, but the sources do not show whether that is the same person named in the Citywire report. Readers should treat Raffone's prior roles as unverified until the firm or Citywire confirms them.
