SurgeONE.ai launched Avery Actions, an AI platform update covering communications archiving, off-channel monitoring and AI governance, according to Wealth Solutions Report and the company's release.

Wealth Solutions Report reported on October 27 that SurgeONE.ai has expanded its AI-native platform with Avery Actions, a set of tools for broker-dealers and registered investment advisers that covers communications archiving, off-channel monitoring and AI governance. The report said the update was announced at the National Society of Compliance Professionals' National Conference in Orlando, Florida. AdvisorHub published its own write-up on the same launch, which largely reproduces the company's press release under a SurgeONE.ai byline.

According to the press release dated October 26, 2026, SurgeONE.ai has extended its existing system to include archiving of text messages, surveillance of activity on apps outside approved channels, intake of custodian data, and checks on marketing videos. The release describes these capabilities as a single system covering communications archiving, electronic communications review, off-channel monitoring, risk and governance operations, and AI governance.

The company says archived texts and messaging-app content are kept alongside email and are tied to SEC Rule 17a-4, Advisers Act Rule 204-2, and FINRA Rules 3110 and 4511. Those compliance claims come from SurgeONE.ai itself and have not been independently verified. The release also says qualified experts review the output of Avery, and that each action is logged in a single exam record.

CEO Sid Yenamandra argued in the release that single-purpose point tools each address only part of the problem. The release quotes Aaron Spradlin, chief information officer at United Planners Financial Services, saying the firm now manages cybersecurity compliance and vendor management in one platform. A representative of Equity Services, Inc., Rich Whalen, is quoted saying the firm moved its data onto SurgeONE to turn multiple data sources into usable information.

SurgeONE.ai is headquartered at 1300 El Camino Real, Suite 100, in Menlo Park, California, according to the company's website. According to the company's press release, SurgeONE.ai positions its AI offering as expert-driven and aimed at SEC, FINRA and state-regulated firms, with former regulators, broker-dealer compliance chiefs, cybersecurity specialists and data engineers among its builders. Yenamandra previously founded Entreda, which Smarsh acquired in 2020, according to the company's website.

The company grew out of Surge Ventures. Wealth Management reported that Yenamandra launched that venture studio in December 2022, and a 2025 press release described Surge Ventures as a fintech venture studio focused on risk and regulatory innovation. The platform combines RegVerse for compliance, Kovair for data, Security Snapshot for cybersecurity and MGL Consulting for regulatory services. Wealth Management reported that Surge acquired Security Snapshot and Kovair in April 2024. In 2025, Yenamandra told Wealth Management that the combined companies worked with more than 200 clients, including many RIAs and several IBDs.

Public profiles of the company do not agree on basic details. Tracxn lists the company as founded in 2025 with 6 employees as of June 30, 2026, while Crunchbase lists 101 to 250 employees. Those discrepancies are unresolved in the available material.

Looking ahead, the sources do not report pricing, availability dates for the new capabilities beyond the launch, or any independent assessment of how the tools perform in exams. The launch is best read as a product announcement that the company is making at a compliance industry conference, with its claims about regulatory coverage still resting on its own statements.

Key facts:
- The company's press release is dated October 26, 2026; Wealth Solutions Report published its item on October 27.
- The update adds text message archiving, off-channel app monitoring, custodian data feeds and video marketing review, according to the release.
- SurgeONE.ai says archived texts are tied to SEC Rule 17a-4, Advisers Act Rule 204-2, and FINRA Rules 3110 and 4511; the company's compliance claims have not been independently verified.
- Headquarters: 1300 El Camino Real, Suite 100, Menlo Park, CA, per the company website.
- Surge acquired Security Snapshot and Kovair in April 2024, according to Wealth Management.

Why it matters: Broker-dealers and RIAs must keep records of electronic communications, and regulators have increasingly expected those records to cover text messages and messaging apps as well as email. Compliance teams that run separate tools for archiving, monitoring and cybersecurity may weigh whether a single platform reduces gaps between them, though any such tradeoff depends on how the tools perform in an exam.
