Anchor Financial Partners, with about $525 million in combined assets, has joined LPL's broker-dealer and RIA platforms, according to LPL's release; InvestmentNews also reported the move.

InvestmentNews reported on October 30 that LPL Financial has added a six-advisor practice from Northwestern Mutual. The team is based in Vinings, Georgia, and is joining LPL's broker-dealer and RIA platforms, according to the InvestmentNews summary of the deal. LPL's release places the team outside Atlanta.

LPL's own announcement, a GlobeNewswire release dated October 29, 2026 and datelined San Diego, identifies the group as Anchor Financial Partners and names six partners: Frank Conner, Andrew Runnion, Josh Eisenberg, Brandon Porter, Kyle Brooker and Trey Beavers. The release puts the group's combined advisory, brokerage and retirement plan holdings at roughly $525 million. That is a combined measure rather than assets under management alone, and the figures are based on asset and holding details provided to LPL from year-end 2025.

According to the release, the group's client base includes affluent and high-net-worth households and business owners, as well as people who require tax and estate planning tailored to the period before and after they retire. The release says the partners wanted a platform that offers client flexibility along with infrastructure to grow organically, and that it can bring in experienced advisors nearing retirement who are looking for a succession solution. A third-party summary of the release says Anchor plans organic expansion and intends to recruit advisors preparing for retirement.

LPL is headquartered in San Diego, according to its investor FAQ, and is a public company traded on Nasdaq under the ticker LPLA. Wikipedia lists Rich Steinmeier as chief executive and Matt Audette as president and CFO. The firm says it supports more than 32,000 financial advisors and about 1,200 institutions, and it reports about $2.4 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets serviced or custodied. That figure is not assets under management. LPL's 2023 annual report put year-end AUM at $1.4 trillion, with 22,660 advisors that year.

Northwestern Mutual, the team's former firm, is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was founded in 1857, according to its LinkedIn profile. As a mutual life insurer, it is owned by its policyholders, according to MagnifyMoney. The LinkedIn profile describes its wealth management arm as managing over $125 billion in client assets. An older MagnifyMoney review cited more than 6,400 financial advisors at the firm, a figure that predates this move and has not been checked against current data.

The Anchor move follows a similar transaction reported by a news aggregator, which said LPL added a Seattle-based team formerly with Northwestern Mutual with about $1 billion in assets roughly two weeks earlier. The same report also described two further teams that LPL brought on from Northwestern Mutual, together holding roughly $1 billion, plus a $1.1 billion group from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. It also put LPL's second-quarter recruiting haul at $25 billion, a 35% increase from a year earlier. Other 2026 LPL team releases include Conte Wealth Advisors, with about $1.6 billion from Cambridge Investment Research.

Financial ADVSR has not yet reviewed the team's regulatory filings, obtained a comment from Northwestern Mutual, or verified current advisor counts for either firm. Those points remain open and could change the picture of the team's size and history.

For advisors and recruiters, succession-minded teams often weigh platform flexibility and support for organic growth alongside the economics of a move. Asset figures that combine advisory, brokerage and retirement assets are not directly comparable with AUM-only figures, so readers should check which measure a team is reporting.
