The advisor growth platform now lets advisors search retirement plans using public Form 5500 data, with warm introductions and automated outreach to decision makers.

Wealth Solutions Report reported on November 3, 2026 that WealthFeed has added 401(k) plan prospecting to its advisor growth platform. According to WealthFeed's release, datelined New York on November 2, the expansion brings Form 5500 data into the platform so advisors can identify retirement plan prospects. AdvisorHub separately reported on November 2 on the same expansion, describing the integrated Form 5500 data and the warm introductions and automated outreach aimed at plan decision makers.

According to the release, the tool covers over 780,000 retirement plans and sends notices when newly filed reports show shifts that could point to a deal. That figure counts plans, not assets under management. Every plan page lists its assets and headcount of participants, names the signatory on the Form 5500, and gives an opportunity score along with the reasoning behind it. Filters include plan size, plan features, sponsor industry, and filings made within the last 30 or 90 days.

The platform flags 12 filing triggers, The release offers examples including a 20%-plus increase in participant balances, plans being shut down, and big asset movements between plans. One screen drawn from the filing data singles out small, owner-dominated plans of 25 participants or fewer whose average balances are at least $300,000. The release presents that as a screening threshold rather than a price. Per Finextra's republished version of the release, outreach can be sent through the Marketing Hub in several channels, including email, LinkedIn, handwritten cards and postcards, while warm introductions are routed through second-degree links to the people who make plan decisions. Sam Kendree, WealthFeed's co-founder and CEO, said that business owners are typically the first contact a firm makes when it approaches the retirement plan market.

The filing data itself has a defined source. Employers and plans submit Form 5500 each year to the U.S. Department of Labor, and the filing reports on assets, how many participants a plan has, contributions and benefits paid out. The DOL describes Form 5500 as its main data source covering about 800,000 retirement and welfare benefit plans, and the agency makes bulk datasets available for download. The DOL's EFAST2 system is the official free public search. Forms are filed jointly for the DOL, IRS and PBGC. One-participant plans file Form 5500-EZ, which the DOL does not publish, according to a LeadingRetirement explainer.

WealthFeed's release says it serves independent advisors, RIAs and wealth management enterprises across the U.S. The release points to February 2026 FUSE Research Network figures showing that 65% of advisors in the survey found it simpler to turn plan participants into wealth clients than to use other acquisition routes. That is a third-party statistic that WealthFeed cites, not a finding of this article. Earlier in 2026, Advisors Capital Management, a national RIA, partnered with WealthFeed for advisors in its PathFinder platform serving 401(k) and retirement plan participants, according to a January 2026 announcement. On June 30, 2026, The Mather Group named WealthFeed its sole approved enterprise prospecting platform, according to TMG's release, which describes TMG as Chicago-based and advising on about $17 billion in client assets. That asset figure belongs to TMG, not WealthFeed.

WealthFeed's corporate office is listed at 115 Broadway in New York, according to PitchBook profiles. In March 2024, the company announced a $2 million funding round with Thicket Ventures as a strategic investor, according to its own release. In September 2025, Broadridge announced a strategic partnership and minority investment in WealthFeed without disclosing the amount. The sources provided do not state pricing for the new plan-prospecting feature, nor a timeline for its rollout beyond the release date.

Key facts:
- More than 780,000 retirement plans are searchable, according to WealthFeed's release.
- The platform flags 12 filing triggers, including participant balance increases of 20% or more.
- The DOL says Form 5500 is its primary source on roughly 800,000 retirement and welfare benefit plans.
- The DOL does not publish Form 5500-EZ filings, which are the forms that one-participant plans submit.
- WealthFeed announced a $2 million funding round with Thicket Ventures in March 2024.

Why it matters: For advisors, the appeal of public filing data is that it shows which plans are changing before a relationship exists, which is a different starting point from a cold list. Teams weighing a move should note that public Form 5500 data does not cover one-participant plans, so the tool's reach is limited to plans that file publicly. Firm leaders evaluating prospecting platforms will want to check how plan data is sourced and how outreach is governed.
