Actuarial Systems Corporation and PlanPort have linked their platforms so plan document data can move between them, which the companies say reduces re-keying of plan provisions.

401k Specialist reported on October 17, 2026 that Actuarial Systems Corporation (ASC) and PlanPort have linked their platforms, a tie-up meant to make retirement plan documents easier to oversee and to reduce repeated effort. According to that report, PlanPort uses ASC's application programming interface to reach ASC's web-based Plan Document System, so plan document data can move in both directions.

The workflow is built around plan takeovers. According to the announcement covered by 401k Specialist, PlanPort can flag provisions in incoming takeover plans that fall outside preferred designs. Once those provisions are approved, PlanPort can map them and load them into ASC's system, which removes the need to enter the same information twice.

In a press release, Sheryl Stucky, ASC's executive vice president, said shared customers can move information between the two systems efficiently and set up processes suited to their own needs. David Levine, who founded PlanPort, said the arrangement gives joint customers a speedier route to bringing in takeover plans and evaluating plan mergers, while each firm's own experts make the final decisions.

ASC describes itself on its website as a provider of retirement plan software serving third-party administrators, actuaries and recordkeepers. The website says its software has been developed since 1981. ASC's brochure says the company was founded by Alan Cohen and is privately held, and that keeping ownership private is a priority. The website lists its headquarters in Sylmar, California. ASC also says that about half of U.S. 401(k) accounts are tested on its systems; that is a company claim, not an independently verified figure. Its brochure cites more than 200,000 plans using an ASC plan document, a measure of product usage rather than assets under management.

In its own words, PlanPort is an artificial-intelligence product that reviews retirement plan paperwork and is marketed to 401(k) advisors, third-party administrators and recordkeepers. The company was founded by David Levine, a lawyer with extensive 401(k) industry experience. PLANSPONSOR reported that PlanPort launched in March 2025, and that Levine said PlanPort does not train AI models on client documents. PlanPort announced its expansion to 403(b) plans on May 6, 2025, and on April 16, 2026 said that Ascensus had begun using its AI platform for select document-review workflows. Ascensus said in its own release that it supports over 16 million savers and oversees more than $932 billion in assets under administration as of December 31, 2025.

The sources reviewed do not give pricing, a general availability date, or the number of firms using the integration. ASC's website lists a press release about its partnership with PlanPort, but the full text and its date were not available for this report. Readers should treat the companies' descriptions of the time savings as their own claims until users report results.

Key facts:
- ASC says about half of U.S. 401(k) accounts are tested on its systems, according to its website; the company does not present this as independently verified.
- PlanPort launched in March 2025, according to PLANSPONSOR.
- PlanPort announced its expansion to 403(b) plans on May 6, 2025.
- On April 16, 2026, PlanPort announced that Ascensus had begun using its AI platform for select document-review workflows.
- Ascensus reported more than $932 billion in assets under administration and over 16 million savers as of December 31, 2025.

Why it matters: Plan takeovers and mergers require reviewing plan documents and moving provisions into a recordkeeping or document system, work that advisors, third-party administrators and recordkeepers often handle by hand. Any tool that shortens that review and re-keying step affects how quickly new plans can be onboarded. For firms that take on plans from other providers, the practical question is how much of the review the tool handles and how much still depends on their own experts.
